Rohit Sharma buys new Lamborghini Urus
India's ODI captain Rohit Sharma recently made a luxury purchase of a brand-new Lamborghini Urus SE. Painted in a shade of Arancio Argos (orange), the performance SUV has been grabbing headlines ever since the cricketer added to his already extensive car collection. However, fans' attention was grabbed by the car’s special number plate, '3015.'
Rohit's garage already has a collection of premium vehicles, from BMWs and Mercedes to his earlier blue Lamborghini Urus. This new Urus SE, priced at around INR 4.57 crore (ex-showroom), makes it his second Lamborghini. The latest model comes with upgraded styling, a plug-in hybrid powertrain, and performance figures of 800hp, 950Nm torque, and a 0-100 km/h time of just 3.4 seconds.
Where is Rohit's first Lamborghini Urus?Earlier this year, the cricketer had gifted his old blue Lamborghini Urus (with the number plate '264') to a Dream11 contest winner. That number had a special significance, representing his highest ODI score of 264 runs, a world record created against Sri Lanka in 2014.
Why Rohit Sharma picked ‘3015’ as his new Lamborghini Urus number plate? This time, however, the Nagpur-born moved dedicated the number '3015' to his children’s birthdays, Samaira, born on December 30, and Ahaan, born on November 15. The '30' represents Samaira’s birthday, while the '15' is for Ahaan’s. Notably, adding 30 and 15 equals 45, which is Rohit's jersey number in international cricket.
Meanwhile, the 38-year-old was last seen on the field during IPL 2025, captaining Mumbai Indians. Having retired from Tests and T20Is, he is now set to represent India only in ODIs, eyeing the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup. However, according to reports, the Indian team management might soon push for a transition to younger players, possibly leading to Rohit and Virat Kohli stepping aside from the 50-over format after the Australia tour in October.
