Pitru Paksha 2025: In Sanatan Dharma, Shradh Paksha is considered to be a special period of satisfaction and peace for ancestors. It is described in the scriptures that the ancestors are pleased with the good deeds, donations, tarpan, and tree plantation done at this time and give blessings. In the Puranas, trees have been described as the form of gods. Just as the souls of ancestors are satisfied with tarpan, similarly, planting virtuous trees is considered to be a work that gives eternal fruits for them. According to astrology, if there is Pitru Dosh in the horoscope, then planting auspicious trees in Shradh Paksha reduces the intensity of the defect, and the blessings of the ancestors are obtained.

1. Peepal tree
In the scriptures, Peepal is described as the form of Lord Vishnu himself. According to the Vishnu Purana, by worshiping the Peepal, ancestors attain heaven. Planting a Peepal tree in Shradh Paksha is considered very auspicious. It gives peace to the souls of ancestors and maintains happiness and prosperity in the family. Astrology believes that Peepal is the most effective remedy to pacify Pitra Dosha.
2. Banyan Tree
Banyan is known as the symbol of immortality and Vatvriksha. It is described in the Skanda Purana that planting a banyan tree liberates the souls of ancestors from rebirth. Planting a Vatvriksha in the Shraadh Paksha satisfies the ancestors of the clan and gives the blessing of progeny growth. This tree is also a symbol of longevity and stability.
3. Bael Tree
The Bael tree is dear to Lord Shiva and is counted among the holy trees. According to the Shiva Purana, offering Bael Patra pleases the ancestors and brings prosperity to the clan. Planting a Bael tree in the Shraadh Paksha satisfies the souls of ancestors and ends the obstacles in the lineage.
4. Neem Tree
By planting a Neem tree in the Shraadh Paksha, the souls of ancestors attain salvation, and the descendants get the blessing of health and a healthy life. From the astrological point of view, it reduces the defects related to Saturn and Rahu, which often increase due to Pitra Dosh.

5. Tulsi Plant
Tulsi is considered worshipable as Mother Tulsi in Sanatan Dharma. Its importance is described in the Padma Purana and the Garuda Purana that the ancestors are especially satisfied by worshiping and lighting lamps near Tulsi. Planting a Tulsi plant in the Shraddha Paksha gives peace to the souls of ancestors and maintains the blessings of Lakshmi on the family. It is an astrological belief that the Tulsi plant brings the blessings of Jupiter and removes Pitra Dosh and increases the happiness of children.
