Senior Police Inspector Arun Pawar's Statement
"Shelke was in Dombivali on Friday and on Friday night he went to meet Jhong at his flat in Airoli and then from there they went to Belapur to meet a friend. Being a weekend, they stayed back through the night and on the weekend hours of Saturday they started going to Panvel," senior police inspector Arun Pawar from Belapur police station said.
While going, Shelke missed taking the flyover and instead took the road that leads to the jetty. "There is clear sign of road being closed but they somehow missed seeing it and spee through the road and the bike plunged into the creek," SrPI Pawar said.

The coastal security police chowky being at the same place, they saw the incident and alerted the Atal Setu rescue team after which the team rescued Jhong and fished out the bike. The rescue team continues to look for Shelke. A missing person's case has been registered with CBD Belapur police.
In the month of July, a lady driving Audi car too plunged into the same jetty after she missed taking the flyover as she got confused with the maps. The lady was rescued safely and the car too was fished out.
