Arsenal have been among the Premier League's biggest summer spenders as the Gunners bid to improve upon their runners-up finish last term. The north London side have wasted little time in getting business over the line, forking out a quarter of a billion pounds on new arrivals, though they've still spent substantially less than reigning champions Liverpool.
A new striker looked like the main priority from the get-go, and sporting director Andrea Berta sealed a £64million deal for Viktor Gyokeres in July. The Swede ended up as the sixth of eight permanent signings, with Mikel Arteta also adding Noni Madueke to his squad in a deal worth up to £52m.
Earlier in the window, Arsenal agreed a bargain £5million deal for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga after deciding to activate a release clause written into his deal at Stamford Bridge, and he will become back-up to compatriot David Raya at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners then went on to land Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi. Arsenal agreed a deal with the Spanish side, paying in excess of his release clause, to bring a transfer a long-time in the making to a close.
Arteta has another new midfielder at his disposal too with the arrival of Christian Norgaard from Brentford. The Denmark international joined the Gunners in a deal that can rise to £15m.

They weren't done there, either. After adding defender Cristhian Mosquera to their ranks in between the Madueke and Gyokeres deals, they pounced late on for two more high-profile signings.
Eberechi Eze joined from Crystal Palace in a £68m deal, with Arsenal pouncing just as rivals Spurs looked to have the transfer in their grasp. Finally, on deadline day, Piero Hincapie joined from Bayer Leverkusen on loan with an option to make the deal permanent next summer, while there have also been plenty of exits.

Jorginho left for Flamengo with his deal coming to an end, while Kieran Tierney joined Celtic on a free transfer. Nuno Tavares also helped boost the coffers, with the forgotten man joining Lazio permanetly after his loan, and there were further permanent exits for Marquinhos and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Takehiro Tomiyasu has had his contract terminated and left the club by mutual consent. The Japan international missed most of last season through injury.
