BBC presenter says goodbye to 'best' team as she leaves amid 'big changes'

BBC weather presenter Jennifer Bartram has announced her departure from her regular role due to "big changes".

The Express reported that the meteorologist took to X (which was formerly known as Twitter) to share the news with her fans.

In a heartfelt post, she shared a photo of herself holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers, smiling brightly at the camera. She was seen wearing her BBC lanyard, with what seemed to be dressing room lights in the background, marking her final day in her usual role.

In the caption accompanying the image, she wrote: "There are some big changes happening within local weather at the BBC, which means that last night was my last regular appearance at BBC Look North, though I'll be back from time to time."

She continued: "They're the best team I've ever worked with and I'm going to miss them terribly."

"I'll still be working in weather though, mostly for the team at BBC London and occasionally popping up elsewhere around the country," Jennifer added.

One fan expressed their disappointment at the news, posting: "More BBC changes. There's no regular producer @BBCTees breakfast show and now no regular weather presenter on @BBCLN.

"Good luck to you and look forward to seeing you when your on duty in the North East, at least you still have a job - that's the main thing."

Jen responded: "Thank you. But to reassure, you'll still get lovely Paul, a bonus extra night per week now instead of me on a Friday; and I'll be back as often as I can."

When a fan wondered if she was departing for a heftier salary, she set the record straight, joking: "I wish there was a bigger pay cheque, but no!"

Another supporter voiced their dismay, writing on the platform: "This is a real shame. First the BBC local radio cuts, and now they're messing with the regional news weather?! I don't know what they're thinking.

"You'll be very much missed. Good luck, Jen."

And another chimed in: "Sorry to hear that Jen. The BBC getting it wrong again!"

"Good luck Jen in the future," remarked someone else. "Loved your weather forecasts and especially your lockdown ones from your balcony. Fingers crossed we keep seeing you on our TV screens."
