Nissan India has expanded its popular Magnite compact SUV lineup by adding an AMT (Automatic Manual Transmission) option to the CNG variants, previously available only with a manual gearbox. The AMT-equipped Magnite CNG is priced between ₹6.34 lakh and ₹9.70 lakh (ex-showroom), making it more convenient for customers seeking an automatic transmission along with the economy of CNG fuel.
A significant improvement includes the integration of the CNG fill valve inside the regular fuel lid, allowing users to refuel CNG from the rear just like petrol, which simplifies the process and enhances safety compared to the earlier engine-bay valve design.
The CNG kit is government-approved, developed by Motozen Fuel Systems, and available at authorised Nissan service centres across multiple states. It comes with a 3-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty, offering assurance about performance and durability. The cost of the CNG retrofitment kit is approximately ₹72,000 after recent GST reductions, reducing overall expenses for customers.
The Nissan Magnite CNG with AMT caters to urban drivers who desire the ease of an automatic transmission but want to maintain low running costs and good mileage, especially given the rising fuel prices in India. This launch demonstrates Nissan’s commitment to offering practical, efficient, and customer-centric vehicle options in the compact SUV segment.
