Prime Minister Narendra Modi received birthday wishes from across the world on his 75th birthday, including a unique gesture from football legend Lionel Messi. According to reports, Messi, who is scheduled to visit India in December, sent a signed jersey as a gift to the Prime Minister.
Sports entrepreneur Satadru Dutta, who is coordinating Messi’s tour of India, confirmed that the jersey was personally signed by Messi and handed over to him to present to PM Modi. Dutta also said he would try to arrange a meeting between the Prime Minister and the Argentine star during Messi’s India trip.
Messi is expected to arrive in Kolkata on December 13, travel to Mumbai on December 14, and attend an event in Delhi on December 15. His visit is aimed at promoting football in India.
Ravindra Jadeja’s Birthday TributeOn the occasion, Indian cricket team all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja recalled his first meeting with PM Modi in 2010, when Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. In a social media post, Jadeja shared:
“I first met Modi ji during a match against South Africa in Ahmedabad. Before the game, he came to shake hands with the players. When MS Dhoni introduced me, Modi ji smiled and told him, ‘He’s our boy, take care of him.’ Hearing such words from a leader in front of my team made me feel proud and happy. It was a moment I’ll never forget.”
Jadeja added that he later met PM Modi again in 2019 in Delhi, where the Prime Minister interacted with the team for about 20–25 minutes.
