Mumbai: Vyjayanthi Movies on Thursday announced Deepika Padukone’s exit from the upcoming ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ sequel.
The reason cited by the movie makers for apparently dropping Deepika from the project was the inability to find a “partnership” and “commitment” issues.
Two days on, Deepika took to her Instagram handle to announce the commencement of her shoot with Shah Rukh Khan for ‘King’.
“The very first lesson he taught me almost 18 years ago while filming Om Shanti Om was that the experience of making a movie, and the people you make it with, matter far more than its success. I couldn’t agree more and have applied that learning to every decision I’ve made since. And that’s probably why we’re back making our 6th movie together?” the post read.
Deepika tagged the post with ‘#king’ and ‘#day1’, along with SRK and director Siddharth Anand.

Deepika’s post days after the exit announcement sparked speculation that it was an indirect dig at the ‘Kalki 2’ makers.
Besides ‘King’, Deepika will be seen in Atlee’s ‘AA22’ along with Allu Arjun.
