BBC slammed for failing to 'throw spotlight' on Sadiq Khan in furious 'bias' row

I find it astonishing that Sadiq Khan, who has now been the London Mayor for over nine years, gets so little scrutiny from the media. Especially given that he has a £21billion budget and is responsible for the biggest police force and fire brigade in the country, and of course the massive transport system that is TfL.

For years, he has wallowed in the constant spew that his very many media officers dish out. "Look how wonderful I am" rings out for us all to hear. We are constantly told that "to the Mayor of London and TfL, every journey matters" - while this is lapped up by many of us, those who know what's going on are far less impressed.

Unfortunately, the only way the public will really see what is going on is for all forms of the media to watch and report properly.

I was relieved and grateful that there has been proper reporting of the grooming/rape gangs in London from the Express.

That is what proper journalists do. They cover the whole story and dig deeper.

My questioning of Sadiq Khan went viral on social media in January, and many other videos since.

I was determined that Sadiq Khan should inform us how many grooming gangs we have in London.

Those who have seen the exchange are aghast at the way he responded to my questions.

Khan claimed he didn't know what I meant by a grooming/rape gang.

We have the Met now finally admitting that they are looking into 9,000 cases.

This is disgraceful. Why couldn't the Mayor have been more proactive and transparent earlier?

Disappointingly, reporting from some, for example the BBC, has not thrown any spotlight on the Mayor in public. They do not appear to have even noticed that he has been reluctant to address the issue.

Some may say this is the normal bias from them. I won't comment, but I sincerely hope that they open their eyes and see that a Mayor with massive responsibilities and a budget to match should get far more attention and scrutiny from them than the constant reporting of his perceived successful projects like endless community events.

There are serious problems in London and he must be held to account from all media outlets, not just the tenacious few.
