Simon Jordan has delivered a scathing assessment of Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford and incoming signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the Whites gear up for the 2025/26 campaign.
The clock is ticking for United to bolster their attacking options ahead of Monday's season opener against Everton. Manager Daniel Farke has already signalled that Bamford has no future under his stewardship, whilst free agent Calvert-Lewin has committed to joining the West Yorkshire side and appears poised to become their eighth summer acquisition. The duration of his deal remains undisclosed.
Calvert-Lewin departed Everton following the conclusion of last season after spending nine years with the Merseyside club. The 28-year-old featured in 274 matches across all competitions for the Toffees, netting 71 goals during a period that showed flashes of brilliance but was severely disrupted by fitness problems.
The England international managed to find the net on just three occasions in 26 Premier League appearances during the previous campaign. A series of hamstring and ankle problems saw Calvert-Lewin ruled out of 15 fixtures.
Calvert-Lewin had attracted interest from numerous top-flight sides following his decision to depart Everton in search of fresh opportunities. His maiden Leeds United appearance could materialise against his previous employers next week under the glare of the Sky cameras.
But former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan brutally ripped into him and Bamford on talkSPORT: "One crock replacing another crock, streaky striker, Patrick Bamford.
"That was often injured far more often than not, and was streaky with his performances; now you have got another one doing the same thing.

United reportedly fended off the threat of Sunderland to secure Calvert-Lewin. "In terms of Calvert-Lewin, it says a lot that the only two clubs that wanted him were two promoted sides," Jordan added.
"He's a free transfer, costs nothing, and yet only two promoted sides want him."
