Pineapples are a delicious tropical fruit, and valuable source of both manganese and vitamin C. Typically grown in Costa Rica, Brazil, the Philippines or Thailand, pineapples are delicious in both sweet and savoury dishes - or just on their own.
However, cutting into the fruit can be tricky, due to its odd shape, tough skin, and the leaves sticking out of it. However, one woman named Anna Viktori, known online as Anna Knows, shared her simple 15-second hack that will leave you with delicious pieces of pineapple perfect for snacking.
Taking to her TikTok account, where she has over 61,500 followers from posting videos of clever kitchen and food hacks, Anna went on to share her pineapple cutting hack.
"Stop cutting it wrong!" Anna wrote on the video as they showed a pair of hands removing the plastic label around the pineapple.
She then used her hands to rip off the top of the pineapple with all the leaves. They then used a large know to cut off each of the shorter ends of the fruit.
While these steps might seem normal so far, Anna then went on to share the 'game-changing' way to cut the rest of the fruit.
Anna then lifts the pineapple to stand up on the cutting board before cutting the fruit in half, leaving her with two long halves of the pineapple.
She then went on to put one of the fruit halves down on her cutting board with the skin up so that she could see the rinds on the pineapple. Anna then went on to cut the fruit diagonally, following the 'lines' between the rinds in the skin.
As she got to the end, she turned the fruit 90 degrees before continuing to cut along the fruit's line, leaving her with 'fingers' of pineapple, making for the perfect snack.
Taking to the caption of the video, Anna wrote: "Wait for it... this pineapple trick is a total game-changer."
Several viewers quickly took to the comment section to share their thoughts, with many praising Anna for her simple hack.
"My mouth is watering right now," one person said, while another went on to say: "Just changed my life."
Someone else went on to write: "This is good for cookouts so people can grab as they go."
However, several people went on to point out this method left the core, which many people find unappealing, inside the fruit.
"What about the core?" one person asked. To this, another person said: "Great way to get more fibre in your diet." Another person went on to say you could just cut it away before you start slicing it diagonally.
